Thank you for all who took part in our Snapshot survey and my thanks to the year 6 children who helped to conduct it. This term’s theme was the curriculum and the results are below: Results from 46 parents:

Does the school spend enough time teaching the core skills of reading, writing and maths? 43 Yes, 3 No, 0 Don’t know

Does our curriculum provide enough opportunities for children to have experiences beyond the core skills? 36 Yes, 2 No, 8 Don’t know

Does your child enjoy our PE curriculum? 42 Yes, 3 No, 1 Don’t know

Do you think that our assemblies, school communions and end of term services encourage the children’s spiritual growth? 40 Yes, 2 No, 4 Don’t know

The subject that came up the most in response to the question about receiving help to support your children the largest was maths. As with the cyber bulling workshop of last term please look out for a Maths workshop next half-term. However for now, can I please direct parents to our school website where there are some short videos/lessons from the ‘Maths No Problem’ approach which we have introduced in EYP and years 2 and 3; you may find these useful. For those who were unsure of what else their children do beyond the core skills can also encourage you to look at the school website – especially the galleries and discovery week sections. Next term’s Snapshot survey will focus on achievement.
